Top Rated Robot Vacuums
A robot vacuum is able to keep the floors clean enough to cut down on the frequency at which you'll need to manually vacuum. Choose one that has an easy navigation, can clean corners and stairs and has a huge dust bin that needs emptying only every few times.
There are models that can mop and charge themselves this is an option that is essential for families with pets or children. A majority of the top performers in our tests have excellent obstacle avoidance.
1. Roomba iRobot i3+ from iRobot EVO
The i3+ EVO is similar to its sibling i3 EVO. They differ only in that the i3+ comes with self-emptying capabilities. That makes the i3+ a great choice for people who want an automated, hands-free cleaning experience, but aren't afraid of having to empty their dust bin manually as it gets full.
Both robots are adept at cleaning up surface debris from carpets and hard floors, and they are very good in maneuvering around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software makes a smart map of your home to aid the i3+ in its navigation and clean up efficiently. The i3+ does not feature obstacle avoidance features like the i7+ or any other top-rated robots that we test. It may be stuck on power cords or socks and have difficulty navigating between different surfaces like rug and hardwood.
iRobot recommends you clear out areas where the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, which includes clearing out any toys or clutter it might encounter. It's also recommended to keep the dustbin and filter clean so that they aren't clogged by dirt. When the i3+'s internal bin is full or its battery is empty, it returns to its docking station, automatically empties its trash into the station's external dustbin and then resumes cleaning the area where it left off. The i3+ EVO's battery lasts for about an hour and a half continuous use, and takes about three hours to recharge.
2. iRobot Roomba i7+
The iRobot Roomba i7+ is the most powerful model in iRobot's flagship line and has the most up-to-date features. It's self-charging, self-navigating, and -- the most important feature of all -- it comes with an auto-emptying dustbin, which eliminates one of the most important sources of maintenance for any robot vacuum.
The Roomba i7+ is able to remember up to 10 floor plans and their names with Imprint Smart Mapping, which allows it to identify rooms to clean them more efficiently. It also works with the iRobot Home app to let you schedule cleaning tasks and control your robot with voice or via the app.
The i7+ is more efficient and more maneuverable in our tests than the eufy RoboVac G30. It also picked up large pet hair pieces from all surfaces including carpeting. robotvacuummops over the eufy the dust bin is self-emptying which eliminates a major cause of maintenance and reduces recurring costs.
We were also impressed by the i7+'s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We used these services to instruct the robot to start, stop, or pause cleaning sessions as well as move around the room, and to vacuum a particular area. The process of connecting the i7+ to these services was simple and straightforward through the iRobot Home app. After being connected, to give voice commands to the i7+, such as "Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom." The iRobot Home app also provides options to manage the i7+'s settings and monitoring its performance.
3. Dyson Cyclone V10
This tiny Dyson model is a sports car that is amidst a sea of vacuums with cords that feel like minivans and buses. It's powerful enough to replace a stand-up vacuum in most homes, but also small enough to fit on the bookcase or coffee table.
The V10 is powered by seven cells of energy-dense Lithium-ion batteries, which produces power that is not fading for 60 minutes. The advanced whole-machine filter system captures allergens, and then lets cleaner air into your home. Its specialized head uses stiff nylon bristles to penetrate into carpets and collect large crumbs or fine dust. It comes with three suction settings to suit the task being performed. It quickly converts from handheld to floor vacuum and back.
This model also has docks that charge to 100% in about 3.5 hours and provides easy access to two attachments as well as the clip for a wand. This is a huge improvement over earlier Dysons that require a lengthy charge and are difficult to store.
The main issue with the V10 is its limited running time. Its claims on the market that it can last up to 60 minutes of run time are a bit misleading as CR's tests have shown. This is a typical battery-powered cordless vacuum's running time. That's still enough run time to vacuum the majority of a typical-sized home but not long enough to clean every area (though a second run-through usually will suffice). This doesn't mean that this model doesn't have its benefits: It's lighter and mobile than the older cordless Dysons, and its vacuuming performance is significantly better on carpets with low pile.
4. iRobot Roomba 694"
One of iRobot's most popular robot vacuums The 694 is an affordable model that's a great option for those who don't wish to spend too much money on a robot. It's capable of sucking up a variety of debris types and sizes during our tests, and often passes over the same areas many times to ensure a thorough clean. Its flat front design allows it to reach corners and the edges of walls.
Its intelligent navigation system makes use of iAdapt to avoid obstacles and navigate around your home, but it's not equipped with the ability to map that comes with more sophisticated models such as our top choices, the i3+ EVO and the j7+ series. It may get stuck on cords for phones or furniture that is low and often runs out of power before returning to its original location.
The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in many ways in that it has fewer components that need regular cleaning It also comes with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, has lower costs for recurring maintenance, has more advanced automation capabilities and is better at maneuvering itself. It also has a bigger dustbin and charges faster.
The RoboVac X8 is a slick RoboVac X8 is superior to the Roomba 694 in most purposes, as it has a better battery life, has the ability to alter the suction power mode by hand, comes with physical boundary strips, and is controlled by your smartphone's voice assistant. It's also more robust, has a larger motor, and can perform better on floors with bare or low-pile.
5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+
Samsung is a household name in the field of home electronics. It's no surprise that they are also among the top manufacturers of robot vacuums and mop. Jet Bot AI+ has an advanced onboard technology that allows for navigation and obstacle avoidance.
The app offers a variety of customization options for your robotic cleaner. This includes mopping levels, virtual barriers and behavior modifications, docking frequency settings and more. It's simple to comprehend and is user-friendly, which is the case with other Samsung devices.
In our testing, the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and dealt with dog hair (on carpet) quite well, clearing up 86 percent of it. It didn't do very well in avoiding taller items such as cords or socks. This was disappointing. It's also a bit more expensive than the other models we tested, which might be a problem for some buyers.
The app allows you to access the onboard camera of the smart vacuum. You can also create live streaming from the robot's cleaning area. This feature allows you to monitor your children or pets when you're away. The dustbin and the filter can be washed for a quick, painless clean-up. The Jet Bot AI+ also comes with a clean and tidy station that self-empties and helps keep the robot's dustbin clear and optimizes suction power for each cleaning.
6. Black & Decker Robot Vacuum
Unlike other robotic vacuums, which are designed for both carpets and hard floors, Black and Decker robots are designed specifically for hard floors. They come with a wide cleaning path and an extra-large dustbin that holds 2X more debris than the competition to keep the area clear for maximum runtime. In addition, they have two side sweepers that clean around edges and corners. The POWERSERIES model includes AutoSense which adjusts the power level depending on whether it's collecting dirt on the surface or embedded dirt. It also has a smart app that lets you browse the virtual map and control the functions and schedules. You can also track the status of the vacuum and then send it to the dock for charging with the click of a button. The app lets you alter the LED lights on the top of the vacuum to discern where it is focusing or if it has gotten stuck.
The app also makes it easy to steer the robot manually in the event of need. My living room rug for example is darkly colored that could cause trouble for other robots. The HRV 425BL, however continued to travel across the border without ever registering the high point. The ability to program a cleaning schedule for each week is a time-saving convenience.
